Lycabettus Run 2020
This popular annual race appeals to the multi-tasker in us. Sign up for the 6th Lycabettus Hill Run – and you’ll also be ticking off an awesome view and historic Athens landmark at the same time. Soaring 300 metres above sea level, Lycabettus is the city’s highest lookout, and gives the urban enclave of Kolonaki its lofty character. The name means “Path of the Wolves” – thanks to the wolves that are said to have roamed freely during the age of Pericles (don’t worry, you’re quite safe up there these days). Choose from 5.5km and 11km circular routes on asphalt or run like the ancients on 4.5km or 9km dirt trails that will take you to the top of Lycabettus Hill. Either way, you’ll see Athens spread out on all sides like an all-you-can-eat buffet. For more information and to register, visit here.
